Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
00:00 – Rain falls only in merit of emunah (faith in Hashem).
04:27 – There are two levels of emunah. The first, basic level of emunah is a gift from Hashem and is compared to tal (dew) because it’s a constant, gentle gift that’s unearned.
06:23 – The second level of emunah must be achieved, just as rain is sent in response to our tefilos.
09:58 – The differences between rain and dew illustrate the differences between innate Jewish faith and developed Jewish faith. The reason why Tefilas Tal is said on Pesach.
17:18 – Why rain is sometimes withheld and there’s drought.
26:05 – PARAGRAPH 29. Kedusha. Praising Hashem in prayer is done every day as an individual cycle of tikkun emunah.
28:07 – PARAGRAPH 30. The middle brachos of the Shemoneh Esrei. The first three, daas, hashiveynu, and selach lanu, correspond to Rosh HaShanah, Eseres Yemey Tshuvah, and Yom Kippur.
*39:52 – The middle brachos of the Shemoneh Esrei, the next three. Geulah and refuah are dependent upon one another, and are intertwined with Brikhas HaShanim – asking for the blessing on the years, which brings nourishing, healing qualities to the food we eat.
44:33 – The essence of recovering from illness is Tikkun HaEmunah, the repair of faith. Health depends on the blessing in food. “All the illnesses which you had in Egypt, I will remove, for I am Hashem, You Healer.” The first letters of “for I am Hashem, Your Healer” are the first letters of “Amen Keyn Yehi Ratzon” (Amen, may so be His will).
