LH8-04-Perika uTeEnah

CM2 – Lesson 062b – Perika uTeEnah 4 – Para. 21-23 – Why a Son Inherits – Creation of Woman – Birth Psalm 100 – The Diversity of Man is Precious to Hashem

Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 21. Why do we say Tehillim/Psalm 47 on Rosh HaShanah just before sounding the shofar?
05:06 – PARAGRAPH 22. Proclaiming the unity of Hashem.
18:05 – PARAGRAPH 23. “Bringing children into the world is the same concept as bringing new Torah into the world.”
20:28 – A son inherits before a daughter because a male child is closer to the source of blessing than a female. Woman was created after man, so she is a higher level of diversification and separateness from the unity of Hashem.
*29:27 – It is a great mitzvah to bring children into the world, because this brings diversity of thought, which is the greatest praise to Hashem. The most significant diversity is that no two people think alike.
33:05 – Whenever a child is born, he or she is a new creation capable of an entirely new way of thinking. And whenever a child accepts emunah in Hashem, this brings about an ever-greater unification of Hashem‘s Name.
37:50 – The woman receives Hashem‘s blessing through the man.
40:00 – Important qualification in the case of a woman who doesn’t marry or who is widowed. What’s being described is conceptual only, because the practical application of the laws of inheritance is always case by case.
