00:00 – Today, 4. Cheshvan (some say 5. Cheshvan) – is the yahrzeit of the Aish Kodesh, Rav Kalonymus Kalman bRav Elimelech Shapira hyd (1889-1943) [H”yd – HaShem yikom damo – may HaShem avenge his blood]. He was the leading rabbi of Piaseczna, Poland, before World War II war and served heroically as a spiritual leader for the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto. He was deported to the Trawniki work camp near Lublin where he was murdered in a mass execution and died al kiddush HaShem. (Podcast about his life HERE.)
