Elul – The Gravesite of a Tzaddik Has the Holiness of Eretz Yisrael – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Text: Parparaos leChokhmah (commentary on the Likutey Moharan by Rabbi Nachman Tcherin zal) on Likutey Moharan 61 – Para. 7 – “Why We Travel to Uman for Rosh Hashanah”.
00:00 – Likutey Moharan 61 is considered the “Last Will of Rebbe Nachman” because throughout this teaching he hints at how he wants his students to relate to him after his passing.
01:30 – Response to question “Why do I need to be close to a Tzaddik? Isn’t it enough to just study his writings?”
02:15 – צַדִּיקִ֥ים יִֽירְשׁוּ־אָ֑רֶץ וְיִשְׁכְּנ֖וּ לָעַ֣ד עָלֶֽיהָ “Tzaddikim inherit the Land and will dwell there forever” (Tehillim 37:29). The gravesite of a Tzaddik, no matter what its geographical location, has the holiness of Eretz Yisrael. The burial place of a very great Tzaddik is compared to the Even Shesiya (Foundation Stone) of the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple) in Jerusalem.
