King Chezkiyahu’s son Menashe did so many evil things during his reign that the angels blocked his repentance. Therefore, to accept Menashe’s plea for forgiveness, HaShem dug a tunnel to His Throne that bypassed all the courts of heaven. This account is an encouragement to any sincere person that the path of return is always open.
