Geviyas Milveh 3 – Geviyas Milveh 4 – Parshas Kedoshim – Ekev – Square Within a Circle – Mishpat – Shabbos – Hisbodedus – Fire of MishpatTikkun HaBris – Observing Shabbos Brings Moshiach – Poverty of Tzaddikim Atones for Others – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Geviyas Milveh 3 is based on Likutey Moharan 59.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 9. Square within a circle. The circle represents Shabbos, the square represents mishpat.
04:30 – מִפִּ֚י עֽוֹלְלִ֨ים | וְֽיֹנְקִים֘ יִסַּ֪דְתָּ֫ עֹ֥ז לְמַ֥עַן צֽוֹרְרֶ֑יךָ לְהַשְׁבִּ֥ית א֜וֹיֵ֗ב וּמִתְנַקֵּֽם – “Out of the mouth of babes and nurselings You have established strength because of Your adversaries, in order to put an end to enemy and avenger” (Tehillim 8:3). The enemies of Am Yisrael are defeated by means of the Shabbos meals.
***05:05 – Parshas Kedoshim. אֶת־שַׁבְּתֹתַ֣י תִּשְׁמֹ֔רוּ וּמִקְדָּשִׁ֖י תִּירָ֑אוּ אֲנִ֖י יְהוָֹֽה – “You shall observe My Sabbaths and revere My Sanctuary. I am HaShem” (Vayikra 19:30, Kedoshim). If Am Yisrael would keep two Shabbosim – according to some, only one Shabbos – then Moshiach would arrive.
16:10 – כִּ֣י בֵיתִ֔י בֵּית־תְּפִלָּ֥ה יִקָּרֵ֖א לְכָל־הָֽעַמִּֽים – “…for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations” (Yeshaya 56:7). Observing Shabbos rebuilds the Beis HaMikdash.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 10.
13:00 – Tikkun HaBris is achieved through mishpat. NOTE: When a husband and wife unite in kedushah, souls are generated, even if no physical child is born to the couple from that union.
***15:00 – Cheshbon HaNefesh and hisbodedus are aspects of mishpat. Cheshbon hanefesh generates fire, enthusiasm, that burns away evil.
17:00 – Reference to Likutey Moharan 19.
18:30 – The Sitra Achra originates from fire, and is therefore subdued and defeated by fire.
19:00 – Q&R about why mishpat is associated with a square: shape of the choshen mishpat.
21:12 – Parshas Ekev. וְהָיָ֣ה | עֵ֣קֶב תִּשְׁמְע֗וּן אֵ֤ת הַמִּשְׁפָּטִים֙ הָאֵ֔לֶּה וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֥ם וַֽעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם אֹתָ֑ם וְשָׁמַר֩ יְהֹוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ לְךָ֗ אֶת־הַבְּרִית֙ וְאֶת־הַחֶ֔סֶד אֲשֶׁ֥ר נִשְׁבַּ֖ע לַֽאֲבֹתֶֽיךָ – “And it will be, because you will heed these ordinances and keep them and perform, that HaShem, your Master, will keep for you the covenant and the kindness that He swore to your forefathers” (Devarim 7:12).
*23:00 – Mishpat burns away desires that prevent tikkun habris. Observing Shabbos has the same power as mishpat in achieving tikkun habris and rebuilding the Beis HaMikdash.
28:00 – PARAGRAPH 11. Souls brought close to HaShem become a garment for the ruach of the person who is being mekarev them.
29:30 – פִּֽי־צַ֖דִּיק יֶהְגֶּ֣ה חָכְמָ֑ה וּ֜לְשׁוֹנ֗וֹ תְּדַבֵּ֥ר מִשְׁפָּֽט – “The righteous man’s mouth utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks judgment” (Tehillim 37:30).
***30:00 – NOTE: Speaking to oneself during hisbodedus. Each part of the body has an aspect of the person’s soul within it.
32:00 – תּוֹרַ֣ת אֱלֹהָ֣יו בְּלִבּ֑וֹ לֹ֖א – “The law of his HaShem is in his heart…” (Tehillim 37:31).
33:40 – Q&R about the square within a circle.
36:40 – NOTE to explain the square within a circle. Reference to Likutey Moharan 59:3.
38:45 – HALAKHA 4. Hilkhos Geviyas Milveh 4 is based on Likutey Moharan 10. The perfection of tefilah is its elevation from har to sadeh to bayis – progression from mountain, field, home.
42:00 – Reference to Likutey Moharan 56.
43:00 – Bereishis 3:17. Poverty and the need for loans originates from the sin of Adam.
47:00 – Poverty of tzaddikim atones for the world.
***50:00 – Q&R – Sipurey Maasios – Story of the Cripple. Not only do we overspend, we are being buried in debt. It’s important to discipline oneself not to overspend, and to save money rather than borrowing or using credit cards. The first question a soul is asked as it enters shemayim: “Were you honest in business dealings?” Rabbi Michel Dorfman zal: A person reveals his true nature through how he deals with money.
