Aydus 5 – There Is Always a Path of Return to HaShem – 2 Luchos HaAydus – Beis HaMikdash – Rabbi Akiva – Uriah and ZechariaGeulah of the Individual – Every Soul Will Be Repaired – Never Give Up – Path of Teshuva Shines from Rosh Hashanah Through Shemini AtzeresSeder veLo KaSeder – Sun and Moon – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Aydus 5 is based on 2Likutey Moharan 82.
00:30 – PARAGRAPH 9b. There is always a path of return to HaShem.
03:42 – הַנּוֹתֵ֥ן בַּיָּ֖ם דָּ֑רֶךְ וּבְמַ֥יִם עַזִּ֖ים נְתִיבָֽה – “…who made a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters” (Yeshaya 43:16). This verse is the bases of Rebbe Nachman’s teachings on Sohd Kavanas Elul in Likutey Moharan 6.
09:00 – PARAGRAPH 10. The Luchos HaAydus were given to Am Yisrael on Yom Kippur. אִם־אֶסַּ֣ק שָׁ֖מַיִם שָׁ֣ם אָ֑תָּה וְאַצִּ֖יעָה שְּׁא֣וֹל הִנֶּֽךָּ – “If I ascend to the heavens, You are there, and if I make my bed in the grave, behold, You are there” (Tehillim 139:8). Two levels are always needed to reveal the truth.
14:10 – When Rabbi Akiva saw the ruins of the Beis HaMikdash he understood that this ensured it would be rebuilt (Makkos).
***15:45 – PARAGRAPH 11. Since Uriah’s prophecy of the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash was fulfilled, we know that Zecharia’s prophecy of rebuilding will be fulfilled.
17:30 – The destruction and rebuilding of the Beis HaMikdash is an aspect of what every Jew goes through in his own life.
19:45 – קָרְבָ֣ה אֶל־נַפְשִׁ֣י גְאָלָ֑הּ – “Draw near to my soul – set it free…” (Tehillim 69:19).
20:30 – Whenever a person has daas – it’s as if the Beis HaMikdash were rebuilt in his time.

22:50 – Even a small amount of light can eliminate much darkness. The geulah is assured. Reference to 2Likutey Moharan 112.
***23:30 – וַֽהֲסִ֨רֹתִ֜י אֶת־לֵ֚ב הָאֶ֙בֶן֙ מִבְּשַׂרְכֶ֔ם וְנָֽתַתִּ֥י לָכֶ֖ם לֵ֥ב בָּשָֽׂר – “…and I will remove from your flesh the heart of stone, and I will give you a heart of flesh” (Yechezkel 36:26). Never give up hope.
28:40 PARAGRAPH 12. עֵֽדֹתֶ֨יךָ | נֶֽאֶמְנ֬וּ מְאֹ֗ד לְבֵֽיתְךָ֥ – “Your testimonies are very faithful to Your house…” (Tehillim 93:5).
33:00 – One of the 6 questions a soul is asked when it enters Gan Eden: Did you anticipate HaShem’s salvation? No matter what the trouble, never give up.
34:26 – Rosh Hashanah is called “The Long Day” because it is the only holiday that is universally observed as two consecutive days.
40:17 – PARAGRAPH 13. Why Rosh HaShanah is on Rosh Chodesh Tishrei. Seder veLo KaSeder corresponds with the sun and moon. The moon refused to share sovereignty with the sun.
*45:30 – NOTE – The sun and moon represent rabbi and student – the intercalation of sun and moon on Rosh Hashanah illustrates the importance of a student being with his teacher at this time.
46:40 – Two witnesses are required to declare Rosh Chodesh. Rosh Hashanah is the time when the lunar and solar calendar are synchronized through the Sohd HaIbur – the Torah’s secrets concerning the intercalation of the solar and lunar calendar.
48:00 – Closing blessings – Tishrei is called Chodesh Eisanim – Month of the Mighty Ones.
49:00 – Q&R about the month of Tishrei.
