Hilkhos Yibum 2 is based on Likutey Moharan 56.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 6. Yibum. Chalitza. Upper and lower yichud. Miriam HaNevia was mistaken to question Moshe Rabbeinu’s separation from his wife. Her error concerned the spiritual effect of chalitza. Usually daas is an aspect of shalom. But the upper level of daas is an aspect of machlokes leshem shemayim. Reference to Likutey Moharan 21.
06:13 – Echad – roshei teivos: Divrei Elokim Chaim.
07:00 – PARAGRAPH 7. Adam and Chava עַל־כֵּן֙ יַֽעֲזָב־אִ֔ישׁ אֶת־אָבִ֖יו וְאֶת־אִמּ֑וֹ וְדָבַ֣ק בְּאִשְׁתּ֔וֹ וְהָי֖וּ לְבָשָׂ֥ר אֶחָֽד – “Therefore a man leaves his father and mother and attaches himself to his wife, and they join together as one” (Bereishis 2:24, Bereishis).
09:00 – Q&R – Review of how the words “and her father would spit in her face” relates to Miriam HaNevia.
12:00 – HILKHOS YIBUM 3. Hilkhos Yibum 3 is based on Likutey Moharan 57.
*14:00 – Emunas Chokhamim. A person who shows disrespect to rabbis is stricken with an illness that has no cure.
15:00 – Angels receive with their left hand and give with their right hand. “There isn’t a blade of grass that doesn’t have an angel that strikes it and commands it to grow.”
16:00 – Without the Oral Torah, we have no idea how to perform the mitzvos. The Torah is the source of all healing.
***18:00 – If a person doesn’t have Emunas Chokhomim, the medicinal properties of herbs and remedies have no effect on a person so he can’t be healed.
19:00 – All medicines and cures draw their power from the Torah, especially from the Oral Torah. Reference to Likutey Moharan 57.
20:00 – Q&R about Moshe Rabbeinu disconnecting from physicality. Is this an option for people today?
21:40 – When a person wants to strengthen his Emunas Chokhomim, he makes a vow.
*25:00 – Oneg Shabbos. Eating meals on Shabbos has a higher level of kedusha than during the week. On Shabbos, the Sutra Achra cannot harm the food we eat. “I will slice away your enemies from before you.” When Am Yisrael goes out to battle, they fast. However “wiping out our enemies completely” is accomplished through achila on Shabbos, as in מִפִּ֚י עֽוֹלְלִ֨ים | וְֽיֹנְקִים֘ יִסַּ֪דְתָּ֫ עֹ֥ז לְמַ֥עַן צֽוֹרְרֶ֑יךָ לְהַשְׁבִּ֥ית א֜וֹיֵ֗ב וּמִתְנַקֵּֽם – “From the mouths of young children and nursing infants You have established strength because of Your adversaries, in order to wipe out enemy and avenger” (Tehillim 8:3).
27:30 – Anger originates from the liver. Dinim – harsh judgements – arise against one who loses his temper. Brain, heart, liver – roshei teivos Melech. When their influence is reversed in priority, the result is כלם – caleym – “destroy”.
34:00 – On Shabbos all forces of anger leave completely. אַֽהֲבָ֖ה בַּתַּֽעֲנוּגִֽים – “…a love with delights” (Shir HaShirim 7:7).
***35:00 – Continuing the overview of Likutey Moharan 57: Increasing tzedakah increases shalom. The shalom generated by fasting during the weekdays is a lower level that the shalom generated by eating on Shabbos.
37:00 – Achila Shabbos brings about peace.
39:00 – Q&R about the gematria of כבד.
39:45 – PARAGRAPH 2. [Technical interruption.]
45:40 – Meaning of the name “Sarah”. Written Torah represents the male. Oral Torah represents the female.
47:00 – זֹ֚את הַתּוֹרָ֔ה אָדָ֖ם – “This is the Torah: man…” (Bamidbar 19:14, Chukas). Reference to Likutey Moharan 92. Without the Oral Torah, the performance of mitzvos isn’t possible.
*50:00 – Every day, changes are taking place in the world. And every change is related to the revelation of new aspects of the Torah. Even the changes in weather, or seasonal changes, or changes in health, or current events – all are revealing new aspects of the Torah, based on how the rabbis are learning and teaching Torah.
53:00 – Reference to Likutey Moharan 33. Good is only found through the Tzaddikim of the generation.
54:00 – The Rabbis are responsible for guiding each generation in the application of Torah law to present circumstances.
