00:00 – PARAGRAPH 2. Moshe Rabbeinu and Dovid HaMelech are one – the unity of Torah and tefilah. Both aspects of serving Hashem are necessary to transform the heat of passion into performing mitzvos in holiness and with enthusiasm.
02:55 – The main intent of Dovid HaMelech is to defend Am Yisrael from enemies and to purify negative spiritual elements in the blood by channeling them into enthusiasm in prayer and mitzvos. Dovid HaMelech is associated with the heart. He represents speech.

05:42 – Moshe Rabbeinu represents machshava/daas. מחוקק – engraved – alludes to the Torah and to Moshe Rabbeinu, who is called the “engraver”.

24:00 – נָגִ֤ילָה וְנִשְׂמְחָה֙ בָּ֔ךְ נַזְכִּ֤ירָה דֹדֶ֨יךָ֙ מִיַּ֔יִן מֵֽישָׁרִ֖ים אֲהֵבֽוּךָ – “We will rejoice and be glad in you. We will recall your love more fragrant than wine; they have loved you sincerely” (Shir Hashirim 1:4). Drinking wine in holiness is beneficial because it helps the person feel a deep love for HaShem. The perfection of love for Hashem is joy.
25:00 – Wine in measure at the appropriate times brings joy to HaShem and to people.
*What is true joy? When a person’s heart experiences, with warmth, recognition of Hashem. It’s from that recognition that all types of joy originate. עִבְד֣וּ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֣ה בְּשִׂמְחָ֑ה בֹּ֥אוּ לְ֜פָנָ֗יו בִּרְנָנָֽה – “Serve the Lord with joy, come before Him with praise” (Tehillim 100:2).
27:29 – The greater a person’s realization of HaShem’s Presence and love, the happier that person becomes.

28:07 – True joy is awareness of HaShem – this is what brings warmth to the heart that can be used for serving Him.
29:37 – Song in the Beis HaMikdash took place when wine was poured on the altar.
30:42 – Dovid HaMelech is called the “Sweet Singer of Yisrael”.
32:30 – Joy results when the “left side” – gevurah – is merged with the “right side” – chesed. This merging of left and right is an aspect of Dovid HaMelech’s harp: עֲלֵֽי־עָ֖שׂוֹר וַֽעֲלֵי־נָ֑בֶל עֲלֵ֖י הִגָּי֣וֹן בְּכִנּֽוֹר – “Upon a ten-stringed harp and upon a psaltery, with speech upon a harp” (Tehillim 92:4). This verse  alludes to the ten types of song with which Sefer Tehillim is composed. (See Rashi on Tehillim 1:1). The harp of Dovid HaMelech played by means of the north wind (Berakhos 3).
34:08 – North is an aspect of the “left side”. Song, joy and happiness originate from the “left side”. Song is created by extracting the good notes. Reference to Likutey Moharan 54:7.
36:15 – NOTE – Heard from Rabbi Rosenfeld zal – The name ישראל is comprised of two words: קל and שיר. Keyl is chesed. Shir is gevurah.
37:46 – PARAGRAPH 4. Non-boiled wine requires extra protection.
42:13 – An example is brought from the Gemara of how wine facilitates speech. “When wine enters, secrets emerge” (Sanhedrin 38).
43:49 – כִּ֚י כ֪וֹס בְּיַד־יְהֹוָ֡ה וְיַ֚יִן חָמַ֨ר | מָ֥לֵא מֶסֶךְ֘ – “For a cup is in the Hand of HaShem, and strong wine, a full mixture…” (Tehillim 75:9).
