2020-11-29 – LM2 – Torah 8 – Para. 1-2 – Last Shiur Given By Rebbe Nachman on Rosh Hashanah: The Dangers of Giving Rebuke; The Voice of Yaakov

Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
00:00 – Dedications and introduction.
00:00 – A person needs to be cautious when giving rebuke, because if reproof is not taken well, the situation could become worse.
20:59 – “I heard Your voice in the garden…” There is an aspect of kol (“voice of kedushah“) that waters and nourishes the Garden of Souls.
33:46 – NOTE – “HaKol Kol Yaakov” – two times kol is begematira 272, which equals the word oreyv (sweet), as in the possuk הַשְׁמִיעִ֖נִי אֶת־קוֹלֵ֑ךְ כִּֽי־קוֹלֵ֥ךְ עָרֵ֖ב וּמַרְאֵ֥יךְ נָאוֶֽה – “…Let me hear the sound of your voice, for your voice is sweet and your face is beautiful…” (Shir HaSHirim/Song of Songs 2:14).
36:11 – PARAGRAPH 2. The way that a person gets to this level of kol is through tefilah (prayer).
38:02 – True compassion is dependent on daas (Torah wisdom). Tefilah without kavana (intention) allows the forces of evil to damage compassion.
40:23 – “Even sea-serpents offer compassion” (Eicha/Lamentations 4:3).
47:01 – Immorality arises from ruined compassion.
48:20 – Three parts of the brain correspond to three levels of kindness. The kindness of a father for his child extends three generations.
50:16 – The three daily prayers correspond to the three levels of kindness that are dependent on the brain.
54:05 – QUESTION regarding 4 mochin vs. 3 mochin.
