2020-09-14 – LH2 – OC2 – Netilas Yadayim LiSeudah 6 – Para. 2-7a – Purim; Parah Adumah (Red Heifer); Mistake of Korach; Kohen and Levi as Right and Left

Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon. This halakha is based on LM2, Torah 7.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 2.
07:00 – PARAGRAPH 3.
16:00 – PARAGRAPH 4. Shalach manos – sending gifts of food on Purim. Torah is only given to those who eat mohn (mannah).
22:00 – COMMENT: Sending a note that tzedakah is given to replace Shalach Manos is not the custom.
26:00 – PARAGRAPH 5.
35:00 – PARAGRAPH 6.
40:00 – Parah Adumah is part of the repair for the rebellion Korach.
43:00 – PARAGRAPH 7. The mistake of Korach was to switch left and right.
49:00 – First letters of Kohen, Levi, Yisrael spells “Keli” – vessal. Kohen is chesed, Levi is gevurah. Yisrael (EL – chesed, and SHIR song). NOTE heard from Rabbi Rosenfeld z”l: Kohen cannot serve if he has a mum (defect), but he can serve all his life, with no age restrictions. Mem vuv mem is begamatria Elokim. If a Levi has a mum, he can still do the avodah service in the Beis HaMikdash. A Levi becomes possul through age – they can only serve from age 30 to 50.
60:00 – QUESTIONS and RESPONSES. Uman update: a small but steady stream of newcomers continues to flow into Uman.
