LH3-17-Purim/ הלכות פורים

2020-08-10 – LH3 – OC3 – Purim 4 – Para. 5-8 – The Hiddenness of Esther HaMalka; Why Purim Needs No Issur Malacha; Purim 5 – Intro. – Para. 1 – Eretz Yisrael and the Defeat of Evil

Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
00:58 – PARAGRAPH 5.
03:07 – PARAGRAPH 6.
05:39 – PARAGRAPH 7. Esther HaMalkah is an aspect of the hiddenness of Hashem. The forces of evil could not affect her because she was invisible to them. A spiritual substitute was sent to stand in for her when she had to be with Achashverosh.
11:35 – PARAGRAPH 8. Why there is no issur malacha on Purim.
*18:00 – Siddur Clip: Yotzer Ohr u’Vorei Choshech in morning blessings, why is choshech a higher level of creation?
14:47 – Reference to Likutey Moharan 243 – Shir HaShirim (Song of Songs) is considered the holiest book of the Torah, yet no mention of Hashem appears there in any obvious way.
17:43 – Malacha (creative work done on weekdays) is usually forbidden on holidays. On Purim, however, malacha is permitted because the source of evil is eliminated completely, so it’s not necessary for us to sanctify this day. We also don’t have to do any specific act of holiness to separate the day (such as making kiddush), because the weekday energy has no hold on Purim whatsoever.
20:37 – Heard from Rabbi Rosenfeld z”l: the word “Purim” shows that this holiday contains the holiness of all the other holidays combined: the Peh stands for “Pesach”, the Vuv stands for “v’Sukkos”, the Resh is for “Rosh Hashanah”, the Yud is for “Yom Kippur”, and the Mem is for Matan Torah (Shavuos).
23:32 – HALAKHA 5. Introduction. This halakha is based on Likutey Moharan 55. The downfall of the wicked is only possible through the holiness of Eretz Yisrael.
28:17 – Heard from Rabbi Rosenfeld z”l: When Esav came to meet Yaakov Avinu, he brought 400 men. The words “ra ayin” (evil eye) is b’gematria 400. VaYechi Yaakov – 17 years in Egypt, 130 years in Eretz Yisrael. Tov Ayin (good eye) is b’gematria 130.
33:00 – “With the shade of my hand I cover you” (Yeshayahu/Isaiah 51:16).
34:33 – A person needs to rectify his tefilah through three types of “voices”.
35:24 – The mitzvah of separating challah is with the merit of the Avos. And wherever the Avos are found, the shekhina is found, because it is an aspect of challah. “Gam” represents the Shekhina. Challah is b’gamatria “gam”. Zos is also a name for the shekhina.
36:38 – “Hiney mah tov umanaim sheves achim gam yachad.” Gam yachad is b’gematria ADNI, which is another name for the shechina.
45:51 – PARAGRAPH 1. Throughout the generations, Amalek is used to punish Clal Yisrael. “Yad al Kies Kah” – Hashem allows the evil of this nation to exist for His purposes in bringing the geulah.
