Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
00:00 – Dedications. Introduction: this teaching was given on Rosh Hashanah 5570 (September 11, 1809), the year before Rebbe Nachman passed away.
07:33 – Spiritual foundations of recovery from illness.
12:25 – The importance of tefilah (prayer) in physical recovery.
23:44 – PARAGRAPH 2. Finding the “waters that nurture emunah (faith)”.
33:20 – The Avos (Patriarchs) are the “arms” of Am Yisrael (the People of Israel).
39:30 – Reference to Shabbos 77.
41:14 – “Imri” (my words) refers to healing.
51:58 – When a person is afraid of something they’re more vulnerable to it.
56:46 – Tehillim/Psalms 81:6 – Sefas lo yedati – “a language I didn’t know.” The word שפת “sefas” alludes to the current year תש”פ (5780).
59:02 – It’s said that the posukim of the Torah correlate to the Jewish years. (G’ra, Sifrei D’tzniusa?) However, since a number of posukim in the Torah are disputed as to being one or two verses, the exact correspondence isn’t known. According to one calculation, the posuk for 5780 might be :כִּי־ג֛וֹי אֹבַ֥ד עֵצ֖וֹת הֵ֑מָּה וְאֵ֥ין בָּהֶ֖ם תְּבוּנָֽה – “For they are a nation without counsel, and they have no understanding.” (HaAzinu, end of fourth aliya; Devarim/Deuteronomy 32:28).
