Toayn veNitan 5 – Ki Seitzei – Kedoshim – Shavuah Hesseis – Day Worker – Hispaa’rus – Parnassah Improves Shalom Bayis – HaShem Takes Pride in Every Jew – Paying a Worker on Time – Avraham Avinu – Toldos – Yitzchak Avinu’s Blindness – Rivka Insures Yaakov’s Blessing – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Toayn veNitan 5 is based on Likutey Moharan 17.
03:40 – Tehillim – Baruch Hashem Yom Yom. Each person should see to it that his mitzvos each day bring HaShem pride. Reference to Sukkah 46.
*09:35 – A day worker’s hispa’arus is weak. This is why it’s important for an employer to pay a day worker on time.
13:00 – There are troubles in a home that lacks parnassah. Reference to Bava Metzia 59.
14:00 – Tehillim 147. Parnassah improves shalom bayis. When an employer pays his workers on time, this generates love and peace in his own home, as well.
*15:45 – Parshas Ki Seitzei. בְּיוֹמוֹ֩ תִתֵּ֨ן שְׂכָר֜וֹ וְלֹֽא־תָב֧וֹא עָלָ֣יו הַשֶּׁ֗מֶשׁ כִּ֤י עָנִי֙ ה֔וּא וְאֵלָ֕יו ה֥וּא נֹשֵׂ֖א אֶת־נַפְשׁ֑וֹ – “You shall give him his wage on his day and not let the sun set over it, for he is poor, and he risks his life for it…” (Devarim 24:15, Ki Seitzei).
16:15 – לֹֽא־תָלִ֞ין פְּעֻלַּ֥ת שָׂכִ֛יר אִתְּךָ֖ עַד־בֹּֽקֶר – “…The hired worker’s wage shall not remain with you overnight until morning” (Vayikra 19:13, Kedoshim).
17:45 – HaShem’s hispa’arus is the source of blessing. Every individual day has its own hispa’arus. בָּר֥וּךְ אֲדֹנָי֘ י֚וֹם | י֗וֹם – “Blessed is HaShem, day by day…” (Tehillim 68:20). Receiving payment for his daily work enables the worker to experience hispa’arus of each individual day.
20:00 – Shavuah Hesseis does not apply to a day worker who claims he wasn’t paid. An employer is suspect of forgetting to pay his worker, since he’s usually preoccupied.
26:00 – The hispa’arus of a worker is in the hands of the employer. Therefore, the day worker is in a type of exile and servitude.
30:00 – Q&R –
31:00 – PARAGRAPH 8. Avraham Avinu was a master of chessed – kindness. He and Sarah Imeinu brought souls to belief in HaShem.
32:00 – וְאֶת־הַנֶּ֖פֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר־עָשׂ֣וּ בְחָ֑רָן – “…and the souls they had acquired in Haran…” Bereishis 12:5, Lech Lecha).
38:00 – Tikkun HaMizbeyach – Tzaddik – Yaakov Avinu is the main hispa’arus – the ultimate pride of HaShem. “Yisrael, in You I take pride.” (Yishaya 49:3).
39:00 – PARAGRAPH 9. Parshas Toldos. וַיֶּֽאֱהַ֥ב יִצְחָ֛ק אֶת־עֵשָׂ֖ו כִּי־צַ֣יִד בְּפִ֑יו וְרִבְקָ֖ה אֹהֶ֥בֶת אֶת־יַֽעֲקֹֽב – “And Yitzchak loved Esav because he entrapped with his mouth, but Rivka loved Yaakov” (Bereishis 25:28, Toldos).
41:30 – (Esav “…entrapping with his mouth” Reference to the Pri Etz Chaim of the Arizal.
***44:00 – After initially drawing close to a tzaddik, there are times when a person suddenly can’t see the tzaddik’s light. This is an aspect of Yitzchak Avinu’s blindness.
46:00 – Bereishis 27:7.
50:00 – Sometimes people give tzedakah in order to increase their own pride. NOTE: An example of the damage this in our own time are antisemitic donors giving money to American universities.
55:00 – Toldos – Rivka Imeinu made sure that Yaakov Avinu received Yitzchak Avinu’s blessing of material wealth.
56:45 – Q&R about eating the crumbs of challah at the Shabbos table. Generally speaking: this isn’t a custom in Breslov.
