Toayn veNitan 1 – Parshas Beshalach – Loans – Taking an Oath in Beis Din – Teshuvah Is an Aspect of Shabbos Tzaddik Yisod Olam – Elevating the Sparks of Holiness – Moshiach – The Tzaddik Can Repair Complete Evil – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
05:30 – עֵ֗ת אֲשֶׁ֨ר שָׁלַ֧ט הָֽאָדָ֛ם בְּאָדָ֖ם – “…a time when one man tries to rule over another…” (Koheles 8:9).
12:30 – Mitzvos that depend on living in Eretz Yisrael, yet rabbinic decrees, for example the mitzvah of orlah – not eating fruit of a tree until after it is three years old. The diaspora is under the sovereignty of the 70 Nations, and therefore under the sway of evil. But since Jews are also living among the 70 Nations, these lands have some good. Therefore, some mitzvos that depend on living in Eretz Yisrael are also obligatory in the diaspora.
15:20 – Tikla is similar to Noga – a mixture of good and evil.
*18:00 – Q&R about the relative good in denying a loan. Making an oath in Beis Din has the ability to defeat evil.
20:00 – Hilkhos Toayn veNitan 2 is based on Likutey Moharan 79 – בְּטַ֥ח בַּֽ֖יהֹוָה וַֽעֲשֵׂה־ט֑וֹב שְׁכָן־אֶ֜֗רֶץ וּרְעֵ֥ה אֱמוּנָֽה – “Trust in HaShem and do good, dwell in the Land and shepherd faith” (Tehillim 37:3).
21:00 – PARAGRAPH 1. Teshuvah is an aspect of Shabbos.
*24:30 – Parshas BeshalachMei Meriva – sweetening of the bitter waters of Meriva refers to the Etz HaChaim, as in וַיּוֹרֵ֤הוּ יְהֹוָה֙ עֵ֔ץ וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ֙ אֶל־הַמַּ֔יִם – “…and the Lord instructed him concerning a piece of wood, which he cast into the water…” (Shemos 15:25, Beshalach).
25:45 – Humility makes it possible for the bitter to become sweet.
16:15 – PARAGRAPH 2. Teshuvah is an aspect of Shabbos. Bris Milah and taking an oath are both aspects of Shabbos because they eliminate evil.
23:00 – וְ֜צַדִּ֗יק יְס֣וֹד עוֹלָֽם – “…but the tzaddik [righteous man] is the foundations of the world” Mishlei 10:25. “Tzaddik yisod olam”.
31:15 – PARAGRAPH 3. A person denying the amount of a loan in Beis Din is required to take an oath. However, the Written Torah does not impose an oath on someone in total denial of the loan.
*34:00 – Spiritual aspects of bathing in hot water on Erev Shabbos.
35:30 – It’s forbidden to light Shabbos lights before Plag HaMincha on Erev Shabbos.
38:00 – PARAGRAPH 4. According to the Oral Torah, anyone denying a loan in Beis Din is required to take an oath. The revelation of Moshiach depends on the refinement of all the holy sparks that fell under the sway of evil. Tzaddikim enter the lowest levels of darkness to release the sparks of holiness trapped there.
42:00 – Q&R – Members of the 70 Nations are under the sway of evil, with the exception of converts to Judaism.
43:00 – Q&R about repairing the evil of the 70 Nations.
43:30 – A person in complete denial of a loan in Beis Din is still not considered completely evil.
*46:30 – The tzaddik is able to elevate a person from total evil by finding the good in him. Reference to Likutey Moharan 282.
48:50 – Throughout the Gemara, Rav Nachman embodies the concept of the “sparks of Moshiach” (Sanhedrin 98).
51:50 – Q&R about how Moshiach can repair complete evil.
