2022-07-04 – LH4 – YD1 – Hechsher Keylim 4 – Para. 31-33a – Pi Shneyim – Bris Milah – Eliyahu HaNavi and Moshiach – Pinchas as Tikkun of Nadav and Avihu – Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur

Hechsher Keylim 4 – Pi Shneyim – Bris Milah – Eliyahu HaNavi and Moshiach – Pinchas as Tikkun of Nadav and Avihu – Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon. Hilkhos Hechsher Keylim 4 is based on Likutey Moharan 66.
00:00 – Eliyahu HaNavi is present at every Bris Milah (Pirkei D’Rabi Eliezer). He is called “Malach HaBris”.
01:46 – Eliyahu is a reincarnation of Pinchas. Everything that the Kohen Gadol does in the Beis Hamikdash is an aspect of  “from potential to actual”.
02:42 – The final redemption depends on Eliyahu HaNavi who will precede Moshiach and announce his arrival. The coming of Moshiach will be based on the revelation brought first by Eliyahu as master of the spiritual process of transforming potential to actual – which results in Pi Shneyim – a “double portion” of Hashem’s light.
04:47 – Why Eliyahu HaNavi is appointed to be present at every Bris Milah. The procedures of the Bris Orlah and Periya – reflect the removal of all the obstacles that keep a soul separated from the Light of Hashem.
*07:42 – Who merits the title Tzaddik – a righteous man? One who has mastered Tikkun HaBris (Zohar HaKodesh). [Ed. Note: Tikkun HaBris – literally “repairing the covenant” – refers to adherence to Torah Law in 1) maintaining the holiness of bringing children into the world and 2) maintaining the holiness of speech.]
08:06 – The word ברית – covenant – with the Kolel is b’Gematria 613.
08:37 – Coming close to the Tzaddik means coming close to the truth. Truth is an aspect of Tikkun HaBris.
09:24 – NOTE: “Guf, Tiferes, u’Bris – Chad Hu“. Tiferes represents the body. In the Zohar, Yaakov Avinu and Yosef HaTzaddik are considered as one – they are both represented by the Vuv in Y – K – V – K. Coming close to the Tzaddik means coming close to the truth.
11:03 – It’s only possible for Bnei Yisrael to receive the Torah through Bris Milah and Tevilah – immersion – in a Mikveh. In order for a person to receive the Torah, he must demonstrate a willingness to go through obstacles. This is the procedure for a Ger Tzeddik to become a Jew.
12:59 – Yosef HaTzaddik merited the blessing of the Bachor (firstborn) that was forfeited by Reuven. The letters of בכר – Bachor are 2, 20, and 200 – hinting that Bachor is an aspect of Pi Sheneyim.
13:29 – דּ֣וֹר לְ֖דוֹר יְשַׁבַּ֣ח מַֽעֲשֶׂ֑יךָ וּגְב֖וּרֹתֶ֣יךָ יַגִּֽידוּ – “Generation to generation will praise Your works, and they will convey Your mighty deeds” (Tehillim 145:4). When a father transmits to his son the truth of Hashem’s light, this is an aspect of Pi Sheneyim. Through this transmission, Hashem’s light and life energy are drawn into this world. From father to son, teacher to student – the  communication of Emunah is accomplished through Tikkun HaBris because that’s where a holy birth originates. [Ed. Note: One aspect of Tikkun HaBris is Malchus Peh – for example: responding “Omein” to a blessing or encouraging a child/student to do so.]
15:53 – אֵ֚לֶּה תּֽוֹלְדֹ֣ת נֹ֔חַ נֹ֗חַ אִ֥ישׁ צַדִּ֛יק – “These are the generations of Noach, Noach was a righteous man…” (Bereishis 6:9). The name Noach appears twice in the Possuk to indicate an upper Noach and lower Noach – an aspect of Pi Sheneyim – the double portion of spiritual light. Noach was born circumcised.
16:21 – Chituch Ha’Orlah – incision of the foreskin and Periya – revealing the crown – destroy the powers of impurity that obstruct the light of the Tzaddik. Through the Bris Kodesh souls are drawn down to this world, bringing life from potential to actual and revealing Hashem’s Light.
19:00 – The two types of Klipah covering the bris are removed by two processes: Lachtoch Ha’Orlah and Periya, corresponding to Pi Shneyim.
18:36 – The first procedure is called Chituch corresponding to the Malach Ches Tav ChafSofei Teyvos – final letters of –  פּוֹתֵ֥חַ אֶת־יָדֶ֑ךָ. (See Likutey Moharan 66.)
19:30 – The name of the Malach Ches Tav Chaf is b’Gematria 428, which is twice Ruach (214).
21:32 – Twice Ruach indicates the upper Ruach and the lower Ruach – the two “Hands/Yuds” that compose the letter Aleph. (See Likutey Moharan 66.)
20:45 – Uva L’Tzion – One of the most important factors in the revelation of the light of Moshiach is Tikkun HaBris. Moshiach will only be revealed after all souls have left the supernal realm called גוף – body – and have been brought into the physical world. NOTE: וּבָ֚א לְצִיּוֹן֙ גּוֹאֵ֔ל וּלְשָׁבֵ֥י פֶ֖שַׁע בְּיַֽעֲקֹ֑ב נְאֻ֖ם יְהֹוָֽה – “And a redeemer shall come to Zion, and to those who repent of transgression in Jacob, says Hashem” (Yeshayahu 59:20). גּוֹאֵ֔ל וּלְשָׁבֵ֥י פֶ֖שַׁע – Roshei Teyvos – initial letters – spell גוף (Arizal, Likutey Torah).
24:37 – PARAGRAPH 33. On Yom Kippur the Torah portion read in the morning speaks about the passing of Nadav and Avihu, the two sons of Aharon HaKohen who died on Rosh Chodesh Nissan during the inauguration of the Mishkan. The forgiveness of Am Yisrael’s sins on Yom Kippur depends on the service of the Kohen. 25:53 – (Zohar Acharei Mos 57) quoted in the Shulchan Aruch: “Anyone who sheds tears over the passing of the sons of Aharon HaKohen is assured forgiveness for all their sins.”
26:53 – NOTE: Rabbi Zvi Aryeh Rosenfeld ז”ל would pause before this Kriyas HaTorah on Yom Kippur to give everyone the opportunity to have the above intention during the reading.
*27:30 – The two souls of the sons of Aharon HaKohen became the Pi Shneyim of Eliyahu HaNavi. Eliyahu HaNavi was a reincarnation of Pinchas, who was a קנאי –  zealot – and Pinchas was the Tikkun of the zeal of  Nadav and Avihu.
*29:05 – Rabbi Rosenfeld ז”ל speaks about Nadav, Avihu, Pinchas, and Eliyahu HaNavi in depth in his Eyn Yaakov shiur HERE.
*30:09 – NOTE heard from Rabbi Rosenfeld ז”ל – The letters of פנחס – Pinchas – contain a hidden indication of his soul’s double nature. The Ches and Samach are b’Gematria “Chaim” – life. The Pey and Noon are b’Gematria 130, which is twice the Gematria of A – D – N – Y  (65).
32:15 – Tikkunim in the world are done by transforming potential into actual. Actualization generates the “double portion of light” called Pi Sheneyim. This process is intensified on Rosh HaShanah and continues throughout the Eseres Yomei Tshuvah – the Ten Days of Repentance – culminating on Yom Kippur. Above all, it’s the Tzaddik who facilitates מכח אל הפעל – this is why it’s so important to travel to the Tzaddik for Rosh Hashanah.
34:31 – Hashem designed the world to be incomplete until Adam HaRishon performed his task in creation with Sheleymus – mastery over himself – Tikkun HaBris. Even though Adam HaRishon failed, Hashem forgave him to a degree by establishing Rosh HaShanah as the day when Teshuvah and Tefilah  can bring about the Tikkun of the creation from potential to actual.
37:00 – It is a custom for Bnei Yisrael pray at the grave sites of Tzaddikim, especially during the month of Elul, (the month preceding Rosh Hashanah) to connect with the spiritual mastery of these Tzaddikim. An aspect of Pi Sheneyim is accomplished through praying to Hashem while in viewing distance of a Tzaddik’s grave. Reference to paragraphs 4-7 earlier in this Halakha.
38:13 – The completion of creation can especially take place on Rosh Hashanah.
39:20 – פּוֹתֵ֥חַ אֶת־יָדֶ֑ךָ – the “Opening of the Hands” – the letter Yud is spelled Yud Vuv Daled – illustrating the process of Hashem’s light progressing downward into the world, from the Source Above – Yud, through the six intermediary SefirosVuv, to Daled/Malchus.
41:24 – Hataras Nedarim – nullification of vows: in Breslov tradition, is done in the morning hours of Erev Rosh Hashanah. It’s also the main element in Kol Nidre which precedes all other Tefilos of Yom Kippur. The presiding rabbi finds an opening to unlock the penitent’s vow. This opening is called Pesach Charata – an opening of regret. For example, the rabbi asks, “If you had known the consequences, would you have said this?” This “opening” relates to the vowel Pasach, and the “Opening of the Hands/Yuds that make up the letter Aleph. The Tzaddikim also make this opening on behalf of Klal Yisrael.
45:10 – This is alluded to in the Tefilah said on Rosh Hashanah: שְׂא֚וּ שְׁעָרִ֨ים | רָֽאשֵׁיכֶ֗ם וְ֖הִנָּֽשְׂאוּ פִּתְחֵ֣י עוֹלָ֑ם וְ֜יָב֗וֹא מֶ֣לֶךְ הַכָּבֽוֹד – “Gates, lift up your heads, eternal portals, so the King of Glory may enter” (Tehillim 24:7 and 9). Through these words said at the very beginning of Rosh Hashanah, we ask Hashem to reveal His Presence to the entire world.
46:12 – This “opening” occurs again on Yom Kippur, when the Kohen Gadol, an aspect of Tzaddik Emes, enters the Kadosh Kadoshim. The word תטהרו is b’Gematria כתר – the Kohen Gadol’s entrance into this inner chamber brings about the forgiveness of Klal Yisrael’s sins.
47:21 – Through the Tefilah of Neilah on Yom Kippur we beg Hashem “Please open the gates!” This is another aspect of the “opening of regret” – during the process of Hataras Nedarim – releasing from vows.
48:58 – Q&R – What is the “Tikkun of the world” with respect to Adam HaRishon?
50:20 – Closing blessings.
