On the 10th of Teves 5605 (December 20, 1844) Reb Noson of Nemirov – Reb Noson ben Chayah Laneh / b’Reb Naftali Hertz Sternhartz zal – returned his pure soul to the Creator. Through his prolific writing, Reb Noson made it possible for the teachings of Rebbe Nachman to reach us today. Commemorative shiur given by Rabbi Zvi Aryeh Rosenfeld zal on the 10th of Teves, 5731 (Jan. 1971)

During his last hours in this world Reb Noson spoke of the three elements that define a Breslover chossid:
1) Going to Uman for Rosh Hashanah
2) Studying the Shulchan Arukh every day
3) Doing hisbodedus – praying in solitude – every day.
